LUCY JO PETERMANN as

JOHANNA

"I can really relate to Johanna's development throughout the film – her inner conflict when she begins to question her previous values."

Lucy Jo Petermann was born in Hamburg in 1998 and graduated from Frese Acting Studio in Hamburg in 2020. Shortly afterwards, she moved to Frankfurt and has been working as a freelance actress ever since. To date, she has been engaged at various German theatres, including the Stadttheater Gießen, the Altonaer Theater in Hamburg, the Neue Bühne Darmstadt and the Mainzer Kammerspiele.

Lucy also works as a German voice actress and has dubbed several small roles in a Japanese computer game. In recent times, she has been increasingly drawn to acting in front of the camera, gaining her first acting experience in short film projects and smaller productions. With the role of Johanna Neumann in "In Gottes Namen" , she now has her first leading role in a feature film.

FLORIAN SÜßMANN as

CHRISTOPH

"I love putting myself in roles that otherwise have little to do with my private life."

Florian Süßmann was born in Haltern am See in 1998 and now lives in Hamburg. After completing his culinary training in 2019, he began studying acting at the Hamburg School of Acting. Florian can be seen in "Blick ins Dunkle" (2021), "La Fleur Au Fusil" (2022) and "Maskulin" (2022), among others.

He would love to shoot a film in Sweden one day, as he absolutely adores the country and its people. But we are glad to have him here in Germany, because he now plays the role of Christoph in "In Gottes Namen".

ALMUTH WOLFF as

KATHARINA

"For me, 'Kat' embodies 'hope', the feeling of getting back up and carrying on for as long as you can."

Almuth Wolff was born in Frankfurt in 1990 and began performing on stage and in small off-theatre productions at the age of 12. She has been living in Berlin since 2017, where she completed her acting training in 2022 after studying food chemistry. The actress is also very athletic and enjoys boxing.

She is delighted to be able to appear in a film that deals with civil liberties and self-determination – fundamental human rights – because the audience will be forced to engage with these issues and take a stance on them simply by watching the film. And we are delighted to have Almuth on board. In "In Gottes Namen", she plays the role of Katharina (Kat), Johanna's best friend.

MAURICE BARTZ as

ELIAS

"I am proud to be part of a film that makes a statement about gender equality and emphasises the importance of self-determination."

Maurice Bartz grew up in a small town and, after finishing school, first completed a year of further training in management and then trained in food retail. After completing his training, his urge to see the world grew stronger and stronger, so within just five weeks he decided to quit his job, pack his bags and move to Berlin.

Once he arrived, he obtained his technical college entrance qualification and took on a wide variety of minor roles in the meantime. In 2022, he began studying acting. This was followed by further film shoots – initially as a minor actor – then with increasing responsibility. And now he is portraying Elias Neumann – Johanna's brother. As the saying goes: All roads lead to Rome!

MARION HELLEBRANDT as

TINA

"I find it intersting to debate the question of what security actually means and when a person is truly secure and therefore also free."

Marion Hellebrandt was born in 1989 and grew up in the Rhine Area. She then completed various placements in Germany and abroad, but acting remained a constant companion. In 2018, Marion decided to train as a hospital clown in Konstanz. At the same time, she took acting and singing lessons and voice training.

In 2022, Marion appeared in several theatre productions. In the mini-series "Sam - Eine Sachse" (directed by Soleen Yusef, on Disney+), she played the role of a prostitute. Since December 2022, she has also been working as a freelance hospital clown for the association "Lachen hilft e.V." (Laughter Helps) and regularly visits people in care facilities such as hospitals, hospices and nursing homes.

WANDA STARLING as

DOREEN

"A woman has the right to make independent decisions about her body and her life, and this right should be self-evident, without any ifs or buts."

Wanda Starling was born in Poland and grew up mainly in Germany. She speaks German and Polish and comes from a family of teachers and artists. She was never accepted into a German acting school. Something she is very happy about today, as it allowed her to seek out her own teachers and focus on what she wanted to do.

In London, she took her first course in method acting. She then moved on to Moscow and Lisbon, where she studied method acting. Back in London, where she performed in theatre, she eventually moved to Germany and then New York, where Wanda studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute and discovered her passion for accents and dialects. Since 2021, she has been living in Berlin and plays the role of Doreen in "In Gottes Namen".
