This concerns us – as human beings, as artists, as politically minded individuals. The desire to contribute to this debate gave rise to the idea for a project.
Strict religious laws. Maximum control. A relentless government. And right in the middle of it all: Johanna. She doesn't really have anything against the system. Until one day she unexpectedly becomes pregnant. Unmarried. From her affair. Johanna has to act before anyone finds out. But abortion is illegal. What now? With the help of her best friend, she embarks on a dangerous journey...
In more and more parts of the world, fundamental rights for women are being further restricted – including access to legal abortions. We – a team of young filmmakers – want to show what these decisions do to women. We want to show that no one else can make decisions about a woman's body except herself. But who are "we"?
